The idea for the Klapel® snare drum was born at a drum show in 2019. The Pilpel family wanted to develop a drum that would help musicians find their sound and felt they could accomplish this through their engineering expertise. The Pilpels dreamed of making the next advancement in technology that would be eco-friendly with a cutting edge design, where sound wouldn’t be compromised. With that goal in mind, they employed their 70+ years of experience in music and engineering to form Klapel® Percussion Instruments.
